Jarapay School

The Peruvian Amazon Training School is the first creative school created to build-up a new economy in one of the most critical mining areas in Peru. Many mining families and local people who have transitioned to a responsible and inclusive mining model are creating stronger linkages with the jewelry industry, supported by the work performed at Andrea Jose. These linkages have inspired them, specially women, to want to learn more about transformation processes to their raw material.

This school is an oasis for the local economy to bring new skills formation for the future generations. It aims to bring new opportunities of personal and professional development for the miners, their families and the local people through jewellery, design and research and sciences.
